Mark Lanegan is an American musician and singer-songwriter. He is known for being the lead vocalist and guitarist of Screaming Trees. He is the son of Floy Joanne (Whitney) Hotarek and Dale W. Lanegan.
Mark’s paternal grandparents were William Marshall Lanegan (the son of Andrew Lanegan and Martha Arnel Ross) and Ella Roena Geary (the daughter of Benjamin Franklin Geary and Samantha Jane Humphrey).
Mark’s maternal grandparents were Floyd George Whitney (the son of George LeRoy “Roy” Whitney and Mary Kazenmeyer) and Emma J. Evans (the daughter of Thomas Lincoln Evans and Sarah J. Crow). Sarah was born in Coatbridge, Lanarkshire, Scotland, to Irish immigrants George Crow and Elizabeth A. Fleming.
