Tim Berners-Lee is an English computer scientist. He is known as the inventor of the World Wide Web. He is the son of mathematicians Mary Lee Woods and Conway Berners-Lee, who also worked in computers. Tim is married to Rosemary Leith.
Tim’s paternal grandparents were Cecil Burford Berners Lee (the son of Berners Burford Lee and Gertrude Agnes P. Tegner) and Helen Lane Campbell Gray (the daughter of John S. Gray and Adelaide Lane). Gertrude was born in India, however her ethnicity is unspecified. Helen was a Canadian, who was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Her paternal grandfather, John Gray, was an Irish immigrant.
Tim’s maternal grandparents were Bertie John Woods and Ida Frances Lee Burrows.
