Jeff McNeil is an American professional baseball player. He is an infielder and outfielder for the New York Mets of Major League Baseball (MLB). He is nicknamed “Squirrel.”
Jeff’s maternal grandfather is Donald Robert Criswell (the son of Donald Stearns Criswell and Kathryn Beatrice Coyle). Jeff’s great-grandfather Donald was the son of Martin Luther Criswell, who was of mostly Scots-Irish/Northern Irish descent; and of Nellie Nichol, who was born in Nebraska, to Bohemian [Czech] parents. Kathryn was the daughter of James B. Coyle, who was born in Iowa, to Irish parents, and of Ophelia Mary Underwood.
Jeff’s maternal grandmother was Jane Ann Williams (the daughter of William Homer Williams and Charlotte Anna Larson). Homer was the son of David L. Williams and Annie Williams, who were born in Wisconsin, both of them to Welsh parents.
