Kitty Wells was an American pioneering female county music singer. Wells won top female vocalist award for 14 consecutive years. In 1976 she was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
Kitty was the daughter of Myrtle Belle (Street) and Charles Cary Deacon.
Kitty’s paternal grandfather was Charles Pinkey Deason (the son of Elijah Rushing Deason and Cynthia Sue Cooper). Elijah was born in Bedford, Tennessee, the son of Joel Deason and Elvira Eulith Rushing. Cynthia was also born in Tennessee, the daughter of Joel Doyle Cooper.
