Susan Collins is an American politician. A Republican, she has served as a U.S. Senator from Maine since 1997. Her parents, Patricia (McGuigan) and Donald Collins, have both served as Mayor of her hometown of Caribou, Maine.
Susan’s mother was born in Barranca-Bermeja, Colombia, to American parents.
Susan’s paternal grandparents were Samuel Wilson Collins (the son of Herschel Douglas Collins and Freda C. Files) and Elizabeth Ellen Black (the daughter of Almon Herbert Black and Theresa/Teresa A. Findlen). Theresa’s parents were Irish.
Susan’s maternal grandparents were Joseph James McGuigan and Helen F. Helen’s father was English.
