Lee Harvey Oswald was U.S. Marine veteran, who assassinated U.S. President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963. Two days after the assassination, Lee was fatally shot on live television, while in police custody, by local nightclub owner Jack Ruby.
Lee was the son of Marguerite Frances and Robert Edward Lee Oswald. From 1961 until his death, he was married to Marina Prusakova, a Russian pharmacist. The couple had two daughters. Lee met his wife after defecting to the Soviet Union. The following year, he returned with her to the U.S.
Lee’s paternal grandfather was William Maxwell Oswald (the son of Thomas Hepworth Oswald, Jr. and Lucy Hannah). Thomas was born in Missouri. Thomas was the son of Thomas Hepworth Oswald, Sr. and Mary Ann Maxwell.
