Fred Durst is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, director, and actor. He is the frontman and lyricist of nu metal band Limp Bizkit. He has directed the films The Education of Charlie Banks, The Longshots, and The Fanatic, the latter of which he also co-wrote; as well as commercials for Eharmony. He co-starred in the films Population 436 and I Saw the TV Glow, and was a playable character in the video games WWF SmackDown! Just Bring It, WWF Raw (2002), and Fight Club (2004).
He was renamed William Frederick Durst after his stepfather Bill Durst, a police officer. He was partly raised in Orlando; Cherryville, on a farm, and Gastonia, both in North Carolina; and Oakland, California. Fred is married to Arles Durst. He has a daughter with his former wife Rachel Tergesen; and a son with his former partner, actress Jennifer Thayer.
