John Bingham, 7th Earl of Lucan was a British peer, who disappeared in 1974. He became notorious for the murder of Sandra Rivett. He was the son of Kaitlin Elizabeth (Dawson) and George Bingham, 6th Earl of Lucan. He was married to Veronica Mary Duncan.
Lord Lucan’s paternal grandfather was George Bingham, 5th Earl of Lucan (the son of George Bingham, 4th Earl of Lucan and Lady Cecilia Catherine Gordon-Lennox). The 4th Earl of Lucan was the son of George Bingham, 3rd Earl of Lucan and Lady Lady Anne Brudenell. Cecilia was the daughter of Charles Gordon-Lennox, 5th Duke of Richmond and Lady Caroline Paget.
Lord Lucan’s paternal grandmother was Violet Sylvia Spender-Clay (the daughter of Joseph Spender-Clay and Elizabeth Sydney Garrett). Joseph was the son of Henry Clay and Sarah Spender. Elizabeth was the daughter of Rev. James Perkins Garrett and Caroline Anne Moore.
Lord Lucan’s maternal grandfather was Hon. Edward Stanley Dawson (the son of Richard Dawson, 1st Earl of Dartrey and Augusta Stanley). The 1st Earl of Dartrey was the son of Richard Thomas Dawson, 2nd Baron Cremorne and Anne Elizabeth Whaley. Augusta was the daughter of Edward Stanley and Lady Mary Maitland.
Lord Lucan’s maternal grandmother was Lady Elizabeth Selina Meade (the daughter of Richard Meade, 4th Earl of Clanwilliam and Elizabeth Henrietta Kennedy). The 4th Earl of Clanwilliam was the son of Richard Meade, 3rd Earl of Clanwilliam and Lady Elizabeth Herbert. Lord Lucan’s great-grandmother Elizabeth was the daughter of Sir Arthur Kennedy and Georgina MacCartney.
