Jean-Luc Godard is a French-Swiss film director, screenwriter, and film critic. He is the son of Odile Marie (Monod) and Paul Jean Édouard Godard. He was married to actresses Anna Karina and Anne Wiazemsky. Jean-Luc is a first cousin of President-elect of Peru Pedro Pablo Kuczynski.
Jean-Luc’s paternal grandfather was Georges Godard (the son of Joseph Godard and Jacquette Fournier). Joseph was the son of Joseph Godard and Jeanne Cadier. Jacquette was the daughter of Lazare Fournier and Antoinette Darrot.
Jean-Luc’s paternal grandmother was Louise Rose Émilie Baeschlin (the daughter of Édouard Baeschlin and Rosine Normand). Édouard was born in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, to Jacques Baeschlin and Émélie Welter. Rosine was the daughter of Alfred Normand and Rose Bouchez.

Jean-Luc’s maternal grandmother was Cécile Julia Naville (the daughter of Pyrame Frédéric Naville and Élisabeth Jeanne Lachaise). Pyrame was born in Vernier, Canton of Geneva, Switzerland, to Jean Louis Naville and English immigrant Anne Todd, of Berwick-upon-Tweed. Élisabeth was the daughter of Alexandre Lachaise and Pierrette Singou.
